Jim Trainer, community forester and proprietor of Treez Inc, has done quite a bit of habitat
restoration and slope protection on our fifteen acre property. His expertise and hands on approach
is appreciated. His efforts benefits not only us, but future generations of Illahee community
members who will benefit from a community beautified by trees and other vegetation.

Trainer and family were so very wonderful I still call and bug him every chance I get.
I recommend them to all I know who have concerns with any kind of hill side problems.
I weeded through five different arborists and engineers before I finally found Jim. Although
everyone I talked to had great ideas it was Jim who stood out. Not only because of his vast
knowledge of native plants and his knowledge of hill side erosion but he has something
nobody else did. He has experience. 30 years of it. And it shows in the hill sides that are
still standing 30 years later. I would use Jim Trainer again and wouldn’t think twice about it.

I recommend Jim Trainer to anyone who needs the services of a great arborist, but especially to
everyone who loves and respects the earth! Jim not only KNOWS his trees, he also understands fragile
hillsides and wetlands and Salmon streams and habitat and so much more. He understands the
inter-connectedness of everything and he never tires of sharing his knowledge with whoever wants to
learn.
Jim has done multiple projects for our family and for our community. On our own property, he has
done tree health analysis and inventory. For our community organization, Friends of Wilson Creek, he
has conducted an Eagle Workshop, he has helped us develop a Habitat Management Plan, as well as
a vegetation enhancement plan, and has performed a tree health analysis along the basin of the creek.
Most recently, Jim helped us resolve a long-running neighbor dispute by developing a long-term
View Management Plan that would help preserve views for our uphill neighbors while maintaining
a native canopy with a strong root system.
