Mitigation

Mitigation can be preventative or restorative. Obviously, preventative is preferred.

Construction Mitigation
Many of the impacts of development can be avoided or reduced through a well thought-out, proactive mitigation plan. Decisions on which trees to save and what costs will be incurred should you choose to remove, helps you to make educated environmental - and financial - decisions. Treez Inc. provides sound advice on where to plant replacement trees, and helps you select the right species for the location.

Because safe, healthy, attractive trees are tremendous assets to any site, proper management of these valuable resources begins with an assessment of the property’s trees. Developers now know that taking this extra step is the right thing for the environment and also the right thing for their bottom line!

Disaster Mitigation
Landslides and flooding have been common consequences of severe storms on our peninsula. Depending on the severity of an event, a mitigation plan may require a multi-facetted approach and include the services of a Geo-technical Engineer. But in many instances, a common-sense approach of restoring the native conditions of an area may suffice: planting trees to stabilize hillsides and re-vegetating stream beds to reduce stormwater run-off.

Jim can help you understand your options and determine the trees and shrubs to restore the natural canopy of the land.
